We feel strongly that anyone can build any of our kits with the right equipment and enough patience. We've classified each of our kits into difficulty levels:

• Level one kits are easiest to build and do not include much (if any) soldering on printed circuit boards.
• Level two kits are more difficult and may have tighter spaces to solder in or some printed circuit boards.
• Level three kits are the most challenging of our lineup to assemble, but we still think anyone can build them. You may want to start with lower level kits, or even pick up a solder practice kit to hone your soldering and de-soldering skills.

We've created a handy guide to the equipment we think is necessary to build a Bottlehead kit.

We supply all the parts you need to build a kit, including the required electronic components, power cord (although international customers will need to supply their own), transformers, chassis plate, and wooden base. You'll need soldering equipment and whatever you choose as your finish of choice for the wooden base.

We strongly encourage our customers to build kits themselves, but we understand some people want the signature Bottlehead sound without having to solder. Reach out to us and we can put you in touch with our chief technician. He'll quote you a price for assembling a Bottlehead kit.

Our manuals include copyrighted materials, so we customers to download a maximum of two times. If you need a copy of your manual, reach out to us with a copy of your receipt and we will provide a new manual.

We try to maintain a healthy stock for items that are available on the site, so we hope to ship within three business days. We're a small business, so sales periods and holidays can extend our shipping timelines. Please reach out if you have a question about your order.

If you receive your kit and you change your mind and want to send it back to us there will be a 25% restocking fee applied to your refund. Kits that have been partially assembled are not returnable or refundable​.​

Each kit is manufactured and packed to order, and the production and packaging schedule is influenced by demand. With that in mind we start ordering parts for your kit once you place your order.

Order cancellations will be charged a 15% cancellation fee to cover parts cost. If you wish to change your unshipped order to a different kit, we will grant you a store credit for the cost of your original order and waive the cancellation fee.
