The Perfect Match

Paradyne was designed to work seamlessly with other Bottlehead products. We prefer its sound when using a BeePre2, but it'll be perfectly happy paired up with a Moreplay. You can always choose a compatible non-Bottlehead preamplifier, of course. Check out the specs in the table below to make sure you have a good match.

A Meter You’ll Love

Set into the solid alder wood base, Paradyne features an integrated analog meter that gives you a direct visual connection to the amplifier’s operating state. It’s not just decorative; it’s functional, legible, and unmistakably present. We provide a standard unlit meter with the kit, but we've written some instructions on how to replace it with a lit SO-45 meter if you choose to.

The result is an 805A amplifier that looks exactly how one should look: serious, industrial, and honest.

The Bottlehead Ethos, Taken Further

Despite its footprint and power, Paradyne remains true to what makes Bottlehead kits special:

  • Thoughtful, accessible design
  • Clear, best-in-class documentation and instructions
  • A build experience that rewards patience, care, and curiosity
  • Performance that competes with finished amplifiers many times the cost

Paradyne is not for everyone, and it was never meant to be. It’s for builders who want to explore the outer edge of what a single-ended amplifier can be.

Paradyne is the most ambitious kit we’ve ever released. If you’ve been waiting for a Bottlehead amplifier that changes the rules—this is it.

Bottlehead's Most Powerful Amp

Over fifteen years of trial and error have led to this moment: an amplifier with over four times the available power of previous Bottlehead amplifiers or double the power of Kaijus configured as monoblocks. This extra wattage makes single-ended warmth available to a brand new set of speakers.

Bottlehead Paradyne 805A Monoblock Amplifier Kit - Bottlehead

Made to be seen and heard

Paradyne ships with Bottlehead’s signature alder base, reworked with pre-drilled openings and custom plates for the power inlet and RCA jacks. An analog bias meter anchors the front, set into a cleanly rounded aperture for a finished, furniture-grade look.

Bottlehead BeePre2 300B Preamplifier Kit

Built to Run Together

BeePre2 and Paradyne were designed with the same goals in mind: high headroom, low noise, and a direct, unforced presentation. Together, they deliver power and warmth without effort. With a conservatively rated 35 watts per channel, Paradyne brings nearly three times the output of our next most powerful amp, and BeePre2 is built to drive it properly.

BeePre2’s low output impedance and ample voltage swing give Paradyne exactly what it wants at the input, with control and clarity intact. The result is a signal chain that stays stable from source to speaker, preserving dynamics, tone, and space without strain.

No workarounds or mismatches. Just a front end and power stage operating as a system. Grab the combo for a 15% discount.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Can I use illuminated meters?

Yes, and we have written a guide on how to install them here.

Do I need to buy two kits to get stereo sound?

No, each Paradyne kit comes with two monoblock amplifiers. That means double the assembly fun for you!

Why did you go with monoblocks?

These suckers are heavy! We wanted to make sure that builders were able to manage assembly and maintenance without too much trouble. Putting the necessary components on one chassis would have required beefier chassis and base materials, and the amp would've been exceedingly difficult for most people to manage on their own.
